Frequently Asked Questions
Reach out with additional questions
1. What is the difference between therapy and coaching?
Therapy focuses on healing, managing mental health conditions, and exploring past experiences that may impact your present. It is a deep dive into characterological and mood concerns. Coaching is future-oriented, designed to help you clarify goals, strengthen leadership skills, and create strategies for personal and professional growth.
2. Are you able to diagnose or prescribe?
As a licensed psychologist, I can provide psychological assessments and diagnoses. However, I do not prescribe medication. If medication is appropriate, I will collaborate with your medical provider.
3. What types of assessments do you provide?
I conduct psychological assessments for legal, clinical, and educational needs. This includes evaluations for custody and parenting capacity, mental health and diagnostic clarification, cognitive and personality testing, and assessments that inform treatment planning and decision-making.
4. Are your assessments admissible in court?
Yes. My assessments are conducted using evidence-based methods and standardized tools, ensuring they are objective, thorough, and legally defensible. Reports are written with clarity and fairness in mind, providing insights that withstand professional and legal scrutiny.
5. Why don’t you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider. This ensures greater privacy and allows me to devote my full attention to working with you, rather than navigating insurance requirements. I can provide a superbill for psychotherapy services if you would like to seek reimbursement from your insurance provider.
